From 1 June to 10 August 2026, Haibei Wang, a second-year Aerospace Engineering undergraduate at the University of Bristol, completed a research internship at the Laboratory for Adaptive Structures and Intelligent Systems (LASIS) under the supervision of Professor Xianxu Bai.

Haibei contributed to research on control for a vehicle active suspension, aiming to. His work focused on vehicle suspension system simulations, including literature review, model development and simulation data analysis. He also reported his research progress regularly to Professor Bai. Discussions with doctoral researchers, including Yu Wu, allowed him to deepen his understanding of vehicle dynamics and control methods and contribute a cross-cultural undergraduate perspective and deepen his knowledge of vehicle control. His internship also promoted exchange between university students in China and the UK.

From 30 July to 6 August, Haibei volunteered for the Study Tour China programme, promoting cooperation between students from China and the United States. He co-hosted a racing-car assembly and disassembly activity at the Formula Student Laboratory, which was well received by visitors from Stanford University, UCLA and other universities. Haibei and other undergraduate students also exchanged ideas with students from these universities, further strengthening mutual understanding among young people from different countries.
